Zenzele in the Xhosa language means ‘to make something out of nothing’
ZENZELE promotes modern african recycle art.
Our aim is to raise global awareness about sustainability, african art and culture.
We travel to Africa, search for the best recycle artists and establish close, long-term relationships, purchasing their work at fair trade prices.
ZENZELE has been in operation since 2004, organizing exhibitions and selling its art in galleries, shops and markets, as well as organizing artist residencies throughout Europe.
ZENZELE is the soul project of the artist, film maker, curator Suzanne Karakashian, French-Armenian, born in South Africa.
“I love this art, it is a message from Africa. It teaches us that with inspiration and love, we can transform trash into beautiful artworks, giving hope to our modern world.”
