Jibas (born 1974) was one of the first professional wire artists in Johannesburg and pioneered techniques never seen before. He first started adding marbles to his wire structures, then added beads to give them more colour, then moved onto recycled materials such as tin, plastics and telephone cables. He now lives and works in Cape Town. He is a registered artist with the Cape Craft and Design Institute (CCDI) and won the Wire+Plus Competition in Cape Town 2007.
