Norman Mukhanka lives in Harare, Zimbabwe, in a partly built house with his wife and two children. In one of the rooms, Mukhanka and his brothers run the Improved Arts workshop. The five Mukhanka brothers, started making their creations as children, collecting old tin cans and crafting them into beautifully formed animals, which they sold on the side of the street. Now their customers come directly to their workshop, as they are renowned for their quality art production.
All the materials they use are recycled, either collected from friends and neighbours or purchased from scrap yards. Their tools are some wire cutters, some pliers, a hammer and a stumps of wood as work surfaces.
