Charles Simba Dangarembwa was born in Mutare on the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique. He started making wire Art in his teens, making animals to sell to tourists. Over the years he has been perfecting his skill and design, and decided to specialize in ostriches, one of the very unusual but beautiful African birds. Now no one can make wire ostriches as beautiful as his. These ostriches have paid for Simba’s Labola (dowry paid to his wife’s family) and soon the ostriches will be paying for his wedding. Simba aims to build himself a rural home in the countryside of Zimbabwe. So far he has bought a cow and he wants to buy 3 or 4 more, so that he can settle down to a farm life and make art.
